Ever since I heard about encaustic art, I have been eager to give it a try. My first attempt was a disaster and wound up in the trash. However, I did like this little guy. I don’t know why I liked it so much-I just did. Sometimes it’s nice to make art with meaning, but sometimes it’s just nice to make art for the sake of making art. This wax experiment is the latter.
Wax is a lot harder to use than it looks!

I love to create any kind of visual art. I love art because I find that I can often articulate thoughts and ideas in art that are not so easily expressed in other manners.
I have created art for many reasons: decoration, personal/emotional expression, inspiration from other artworks etc. I will often focus on a theme for several pieces (even years) and then move on to another theme.
